Lagrein is one of the oldest vines grown in South Tyrol. Alois Lageder raises it in the Bolzano basin and in the municipality of Ora, on partly sandy alluvial soil and partly limestone. After a meticulous manual harvest of the grapes, we proceed to the maceration of the grapes in steel and to a refinement always in steel or partly in cement for at least 12 months.
This Lagrein has the typical cherry color with ruby reflections. The nose is intense with hints of fruit, first of all the plum, notes of delicate spices and slight animal hints.
Medium-bodied wine with good freshness and slightly tannic.
It goes very well with aged cheese dishes and meat dishes with very long cooking times.
