Description

Details of wine

One of the oldest vines of Friuli (the ancient Romans knew him by the name of "evola"). A wine made only in these hills, because the microclimate and soil of the plains prevent a quality crop.

In order to thank him for his service in the 30 Years War, was given to Locatello Locatelli 300 fields in an area of Cormòns known as “Langoris” by then Emperor Ferdinand III in 1648. At the time this area of Friuli was part of the Hapsburg Empire. From this time on, the quiet woods, green hills and gentle vineyards to the Tenuta di Angoris became a retreat for the royalty and èlite from throughout the Hapsburg Empire. Villa Locatelli, which still dominates the estate, became a symbol of quality and hospitality and the wines that came from the estate made their way across the royal courts of Europe. Over three centuries have passed and the Tenuta di Angoris, one of the most prestigious Friuli wineries from time immemorial, is today managed with renewed enthusiasm and the entrepreneurial spirit of another Locatelli family (not related to the original Locatello): Claudia Locatelli renewed in the latest years the wines and the looks of the Tenuta di Angoris.
