A powerful, focused style... packs quite a punch. Crushed flowers, raspberries and tobacco linger on the polished finish. Vespa Rosso is our estate red which balances power and finesse through a combination of indigenous and international varieties. A wine with ripe fruit and a slightly new-world flavor profile. The lush palate makes it drinkable upon release, though it is structured enough for aging.

The objective of the Bastianich winery is to absorb the history and culture of the area , creating unique wines that they may declare the place but, at the same time demonstrating to stand for body, structure and balance . Vespa Vespa Bianco and Rosso have been so baptized for the constant presence of wasps, attracted by ripe grapes . These blends are made in an area known for its monovines. The focus thus shifts from the vine to the terroir, that is the set of environmental and anthropogenic factors . The Hornet reserve is a red blend made ​​with only the best vintages and partially dried grapes , de-stemmed by hand. Is put on the market five years after the harvest. Native varieties such as Friulano (formerly known as Tocai Friulano ), are not assembled with other varieties to emphasize the uniqueness. The place of honor goes to Tocai Plus, a particularly complex wine made ​​with grapes and late harvest grapes, all from a single vineyard with vines of 60 years.
