Description

Details of wine

The Chianti area is one of the most famous in the world, where wines of international prestige are born. The biological vocation of these lands is evidenced by a series of very thick cellars that in 2016 founded the Biodistretto del Chianti which aims to promote organic agriculture and all those good practices aimed at respecting, as much as possible, the territory and the environment.

The Buondonno Winery was one of the first 20 Tuscan companies to receive organic certification in 1989 and since then all its production follows this specification guaranteeing the most natural products possible and expression of the terroir.

Among its labels, the Rosé is a very interesting product for the perfect combination between Syrah grapes vinified in white and the must obtained from the drainage of Sangiovese grapes used for the production of Chianti Classico.

This wine is very simple and able to conquer everyone. A drinkable rosé, fresh and with a light tannic texture. If you are going to enjoy a beautiful sunset, don't forget a corkscrew and a bottle of this wine!

The farm appears clearly in the maps drafted by the Guelph Faction Captains in 1549, in which it is marked as "the place of Lionardo Buonarroti", nephew of Michelangelo. Looking at the correspondence between the nephew and his 74-year-old uncle, at the time resident in Rome, we learned that the farm at Casavecchia was bought by Michelangelo himself, and that the wine produced in this area was already renowned at that time: "I would rather have two barrels of Trebbiano than eight shirts", wrote Michelangelo to Lionardo, arguing that he would have liked to bring some of the wine as a gift to the Pope. The two of us, Gabriele and Valeria, fresh graduates in Naples with a great craving for agriculture, resolved on purchasing the farm in 1988. Since then, with commitment and perseverance, we grew increasingly devoted to viticulture, giving birth to a small farm strictly based on the principles of Organic Agriculture. A place in which to make quality wines, while giving our customers a unique chance to spend their holidays in direct contact with nature. Since the very beginning of our activity, we soon became inclined towards Organic Agriculture, because it seemed, and in fact still seems to date, as the best way to operate within the natural environment, on the tip of our toes, trying to alter its balance as little as possible. Since 1989, we have been enrolled in the Coordination of Tuscan Organic Producers (www.ctpb.it) with the registration number 17, becoming part of one of the first organic producers associations to be born in Italy. In 1995, together with a group of small Tuscan and Piedmontese organic farms, we founded the association Trimillii - Amici viticoltori di Piemonte e Toscana, which then became a consortium through which we took part in numerous exhibitions and trade fairs, experimenting with new forms of promotion and collaboration up until 2013. In 2016, along with various winemakers and operators involved in the environmental protection of the Chianti area, we founded the Biodistretto del Chianti, which aims to promote organic farming along with all those good practices aimed at respecting the territory and the environment as much as possible.
