Details of wine
Calafata is a social farm, born in 2011 from the idea of ??some young people who wanted to recover land destined for abandonment by employing the work of socially disadvantaged people.
Each abandoned land becomes a challenge to be won and an opportunity for social redemption for people who have lived in the shadows until then and want to change their lives.
The company is spread over 30 hectares in the Municipality of Lucca on the hills of Maulina and Morianese and uses exclusively a biodynamic agriculture system.
Calafata Almare is the orange wine of the cellar, in which the contact between the skins and the must takes place for the duration of fermentation. Maceration is not extreme and allows to create a fragrant and rustic white wine, with a simple drink very rare to find in wines of this category.
A wine to be savored on one of those days that introduce autumn in the company of an old friend of youth.

CELLAR
Name: Calafata
Address: Piazzale Arrigoni, 2 - Lucca (LU)
Web Site: http://www.calafata.it/
Its name comes from the master caulkers who, thanks to their knowledge, a rope and some pitch, could create safe and waterproof boats. Calafata is conceived to be a place of planning and working, centred on the love and the attention invested in the places we live in focusing on ways of working and social inclusion for all those people who are in marginalised and disadvantaged conditions. It is an idea of an agricultural enterprise which is able to combine the quality of its products, the dicipline required by the ground and the leading role of all those who work it.
