Description
The name "Blanquette de Limoux" has its origins in the light color of the lower surface of the leaves of Mauzac, a variety called Limouxine Blanquette language. This Blanquette is the pure expression of the terroir from which it comes. A fresh wine with a marked finesse that is characteristic of the Mauzac blend.
On the palate the taste is silky and with a sparkling vivacity, the perfume contains notes of plum, apple and white flowers. This production of the Domaine Delmas is suitable with seafood appetizers, wild trout up to desserts such as apple crumble
Giallo dorato.

In 1531, a few kilometres away from Limoux, the monks of the Benedictine Saint-Hilaire Abbey discovered that the white wine they had bottled and corked formed bubbles : the blanquette de Limoux was just born. It is then considered one of the oldest sparkling wines in the world. From the 17th century, the blanquette de Limouxs reputation spreads out of the region and it is used as a quality product and gift to Lords, military authorities and to ecclesiastic personalities. Taken from 5 centuries of tradition, the typical pronounced taste of the blanquette de Limoux is due to the grape variety Mauzac. The name Blanquette de Limoux comes from the grape variety called Blanquette in the Limoux language, name given because of the clear colour underneath the Mauzac leaves.
