Details of wine

A Jurassic terrain dating back to about 140 million years with limestone-clay features allows the vine to take root in depth and convey the wine's body and minerality. Sancerre Les Boucauds reveals ripe and precise aromas of yellow pulp fruits with only a hint of citrus fruit on a palate of limestone minerality. It can be enjoyed alone or with shellfish or fish dishes.

The cultivation of the vine is essential to obtain fine, precise wines. As attentive winegrowers, our role is to maintain the best possible balance between the soil and the plant according to the climate. Our 13.5 hectare vineyard is composed of 10.5 hectares of Sauvignon Blanc and 3 hectares of Pinot Noir, centred around 6 localities to the north of Sancerre. The soil is ploughed and scratched. A vegetal cover, controlled between rows, allows to preserve the flora and to activate the life of the soil. The pruning, disbudding and trellising work is rigorous. They make it possible to adjust production, aerate vegetation and grapes in order to obtain perfect maturity and perfect health. The manual harvesting followed by sorting ensures the respect and integrity of the grapes until pressing (White and Rosé) or vatting (Red). Thus, vinification and maturing take place simply but precisely.
