The Domaine de La Vougeraie was born from the fusion of estates acquired over time starting from those owned by the family. The story dates back to 1964 with the first grape variety, Les Evocelles, and then evolved until the creation of a mosaic of 67 plots on 34 hectares which makes up the entire estate.
The company philosophy followed from the beginning was guided by the choice of organic viticulture: finding living land to enhance pure wines. This was accompanied by biodynamics by integrating the first with a more holistic vision.
Processed land, small crops, concentrated grapes and above all preserved with extreme sweetness from their birth to their metamorphosis, vinification and aging hand-sewn for each plot, contribute to an elegant style and an increasingly precise definition of terroir.
The Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Clos Thorey Monopole 2017 is produced following all the natural principles recognized by this Domaine, starting from the use of Pinot Noir grown organically integrated with the use of biodynamic compounds.
Well seated on the sedimentary formations of the Middle Jurassic, the vineyard from which this red is produced is cut in two by the city, at the end of the Combe de la Serrée, where the irregular Meuzin flows. To the north Vosne-Romanée, to the south, Premeaux-Prissey. The various terroirs offer a varied range of typical products, with more rustic wines in the south. The Nuits wines offer their fullness only after a few years, they are wines of patient collectors.
