The Humbrecht family has been cultivating its vines in the great terroirs of Alsace since 1960 and today covers about 40 hectares of land.
The Domaine in 1998 obtained the organic certification and in 2002 the biodynamic Biodyvin one. The adoption of these cultivation methods allows respect for the life of the vine and the soil on which it grows.
The activity is carried out by a team of 22 people who, given the size of the terroir, allows attention to detail and manual execution of many of the wine-growing activities.
The production guarantees a wide range of labels among which we find the Gewurztraminer Hengst Grand Cru 2016, coming from two very old vineyards located in the middle of the Grand Cru.
The limestone soil of red marl on which this vine is born gives a great structure and interesting tannins.
Hengst is incredibly fresh, to be drunk immediately but capable of evolving over the years, enhancing its qualities.

The Domaine Zind-Humbrecht has been created in 1959 by the union of the family owned properties of Zénon Humbrecht, winegrower at Gueberschwihr and of Emile Zind, winegrower in Wintzenheim. Before this date each of our families were producing and selling their wines under their own name.
Winegrower from father to son since the Thirty Years war in Europe (1620) the Humbrecht family has long winemaking traditions. Today Léonard and Ginette, as well, as Olivier and Margaret Humbrecht are working together at the Domaine.
Chanoine Barth, historian of Alsace wines, recalls that the Humbrecht family was already renting vineyards from the Abbaye of Marbach, near Gueberschwihr, in the 18th century. However, we only started to bottle our wines in 1947. Since then, we have only produced grapes from our own vineyards, making the wine and selling it under our own label.
Today the Domaine Zind-Humbrecht has 40 hectares of vineyards located in five different villages in the Haut- Rhin.
