Trebbiano and Montepulciano d'Abruzzo are the two indigenous vines on which Emidio Pepe has concentrated all his work since the foundation of his company in 1964.
A story that takes place between the Adriatic Sea and the slopes of the Gran Sasso, where an ideal climate is created for the cultivation of vines.
The production of its wines, among which we find this splendid interpretation of the Pecorino grape variety, takes place in a biological and biodynamic regime with most of the work phases being carried out by hand.
Pecorino 2017 is a Triple A among the last born in the Pepe family, a wine of great thickness and tactility, whose aging in concrete seems to soften its most pungent features. An impeccable and unexpected debut, which immediately refers to the varietal and, above all, to the corporate stamp.

Al naso stupisce per profondità e per stoffa: note floreali e fruttate si rincorrono e si fondono con toni erbacei in un tutt'uno di grande fascino. In bocca è materico, fresco, appagante.
È assaggio vivo, lungo e sfaccettato, di grande tattilità ed equilibrio. Chiude con un finale indimenticabile per persistenza.
Ottimo anche come aperitivo, il Pecorino di Emidio Pepe è vino che si abbina splendidamente a vellutate e zuppe vegetariane.

The art of wine in the PEPE FIRM, hands down from father to son, since good 4 generations. In 1899 the founder of the family, Emidio Pepe was already well known for his excellent wine, which was born with fresh grapes that can be found on the Toran hillsides and on 1944, his son Giuseppe was alreading selling wine.
In 1964 Emidio Pepe, grandson of the founder of the firm, looking ahead, understood the great qualities of the "Montepulciano d'Abruzzo" and begun selling it in bottles as if it was "Black Gold".
Today his daughter Daniela and Sofia Pepe continue with a great passion in producing famous wines, respecting all the methods their fathers used 40 years before.
In the last few years Daniela & Sofia with the typical tenacity of the Pepe Family and the fearlessness of their youth and spirit have enlarged the properties and elevated the production for the wine cellar, always under the vigilant protection of their father Emidio Pepe with his great experience!
The achievement of this project of life which is tied-up with its passion, must be also recognized to his wife ROSA, that has always encouraged his challenges; not only in wine cellars, where he dedicated much time to the delicate decanting procedures, but also in the kitchen, offering to all his guests that visit him at the Toranesi hills, his typical dishes regarding the Teramana traditions.
