Firriato Harmonium 2013

The Harmonium is the successful synthesis between the power of Nero d'Avola and the Firriato style. The goal was to create a "cru dei cru" that offered all the expressions of the richness of such an eclectic variety. After 15 years of analysis and microvinification, Firriato has identified, in the 165 hectares of Borgo Guarini, the three different crus of Ferla, Lepre and Beccaccia, to breed vines obtained from three different mass selections of Nero d'Avola. The complexity of the pedoclimatic conditions has allowed us to highlight the different organoleptic characteristics of the three Single Vineyards. The grapes of the Harmonium are harvested in different harvest times because they have different maturations and are vinified separately to join in a blend that has made the history of this label.

Deep and impenetrable ruby from the violet rim
Power, elegance, vibrant tannins, incomparable softness, freshness, a combination of wonderful balance and harmony, absolute master of the palate, seduced by the crispness and the incredible persistence and cleanliness of a wine of great stature.
In the foreground beautiful notes of cherry, plum, mulberry, blackberry and black currant, which alternate and duet with refined hints of rhubarb, cinchona, pepper, tobacco, nutmeg and dark chocolate, intertwining with mineral nuances and undergrowth.
To combine with dishes of important structure such as rigatoni with game ragù, risotto with porcini mushrooms and sausage, baked mutton, venison saddle with wild plums, braised baked in the same wine.

They belive that they are blessed with the resource of one of the most suitable territories in the world ofr wine growing and can therefore meet the challenge to produce great wines.The philosophy of the company is hte following: - the development of indigenous grape varieties to fulfil their maximum potential - the use of those international varieties which are best suited to Sicilian conditions. - focused marketing allied to a pricing philosophy which offers value for money at all levels.
