Name: Florio Start-up year: 1833 Address: Via Vincenzo Florio 1 - Marsala (TP) Web Site: www.duca.it
The cellar Florio was born in 1832 when Vincenzo Florio acquired land adjacent to Woodhouse, father and discoverer of Marsala.
The early years were not easy: no profits and uncertain prospects endangered the survival of the cellar Florio. Since 1855 the efforts began to be rewarded and tenacity finally turned into success. Over the years, Florio became synonymous with quality Marsala, one of the most popular liqueur wines around the world. The experience of decades, coupled with the perfect knowledge of the Sicilian territory, allow to produce high quality bottles, which still represent Sicily and Italy.
To enjoy the secular history and the grandeur of a Marsala, the Florio name is an absolute guarantee, an indispensable mark, a point of reference. Marsala, but not only: the cellar Florio specializes in the production of other typically Sicilian bottles, from the Passito of Pantelleria to Moscato di Alessandria, passing through the Cricket and even reaching the grappa.
