The estate Grifalco is located in the heart of southern Italy, and produces varietal wines using only grapes of Aglianico 100%. Fabrizio Piccin and Cecilia Naldoni, Tuscan vintners of Nobile di Montepulciano, at some point in their lives decide to produce wines in Basilicata. Thus begins their adventure approach to this region in 1993, and 2003 sees the light their first label. The company is divided into two main sections. Six hectares are Pian of the House and surround the winery. Seven more are in Maschito and the last is in Ginestra. It is a certified organic farm vineyards, all in rows, at an altitude ranging from 300 meters to 500 Venosa of the other two small hamlets. "The adventure in Basilicata, after so many years in Tuscany, is becoming more attractive; Here the soil and grapes impress us each passing day more and more with their strong character. " With these words Fabrizio describes his story in Basilicata, the fact of success and much satisfaction, thanks to a terroir that is perfect for ripening Aglianico, the only grapes grown here in Grifalco. The result are elegant and powerful wines, absolutely representative of this picturesque land and intriguing.
