Francesco Illy fell in love with Podere Le Ripi at first sight and bought it from a Sardinian shepherd, relaunching it and making it a point of reference for the biodynamic production of Tuscany.

We are in Montalcino in the realm of Sangiovese, where the finest wines of the Italian tradition are born and where life flows slowly away from the chaos of large cities.

Amore e Follia by Podere Le Ripi is an example of how a non-native grape variety like Syrah can give its best even in this area.
A Syrah vinified in purity, obtained by manual harvest and fermented using only indigenous yeasts.

A warm and enveloping red, in which the fine tannins give an impetus that will accompany a slightly bitter finish.

Ampio bouquet di frutti neri, fondo di bosco, legno di pino con un accenno di rosa bianca e gelsomino.

Trama distintiva di tannini ben ramificati abbinati ad una grande mineralità, un leggero amaro si sviluppa come retrogusto.

Podere le Ripi started as a dream, and a very old one too: a dream to create something. This dream is also an aesthetic one: of creating something extremely beautiful. When I was 18 years old it was supposed to be an island, and Podere le Ripi is not an island, but it is some sort of a peninsula that dives into the noisy Orcia river. With time, this something beautiful became also healthy and sustainable, and subsequently we realized that it could have been applied somewhere else, therefore becoming replicable and socially positive in its approach.
