Details of wine

Chiara and Teresa, daughters of Giorgio Lungarotti, are today at the helm of this important company which has become a point of reference for all Umbrian and national production.

The philosophy that is followed in the cellar is to give productions in line with the qualities of this land, preserving its integrity and richness.
In the vineyard we work in full respect of biodiversity, using natural fertilizers and limiting the use of resources during the production process.

In 2004 the Tenuta di Montefalco ends its conversion to organic and from that date Lungarotti Montefalco Bio is produced in which the use of indigenous yeasts is intensified and the presence of sulphites is minimized.

This red comes from a blend of Sagrantino, Merlot and Sangiovese and is appreciated for its softness and intensity.

On the label we find the hawk symbol of the area.

Color

Rosso rubino con riflessi violacei.

Smell

Complesso e di buona intensità, richiama la china, le spezie dolci e la cannella; elegante la progressione di note boisé, ben equilibrate con un persistente e fresco frutto rosso.

Taste

Di buona struttura e raffinata freschezza acida; tannino piacevole, lungo nel finale e con un bel richiamo alla tostatura e alle spezie dolci.

Pairings

Tegamaccio di pesce di lago, maialino in porchetta, zuppa di farro e legumi, coratella di agnello, gnocchetto di ragù di chianina profumato al timo, funghi porcini grigliati o trifolati.
