At the end of XIXth century, the first vines of the family beguin to produce champagne. At that time, the village of Bonneil is already famous for its white wines, particularly appreciated by noble people and aristocracy from Paris and around. At the beguinning, Marcel Marteux (Guillaume’s grand father) is winegrower. Then, he becomes grower of stock plants production, during almost 20 years. That is why the vineyard has been planted in massale selection. This methode provides a wide genetic diversity and good health to the vignes, such as a high natural resilency and a good immune system. Marcel and his father-in-law : Gilbert Renard twine a wonderfull relationship. Inseparable, they work together and expand their activity of vine plants growing. Day by day, they pass down their passion of earth ground labour to Joël MARTEAUX : Marcel’son, and Guillaume’s Father. Later, Joël Marteaux and his wife, Catherine, are influenced by their son Guillaume, and his encouragement of indépendance : in 1996, they decide to create their own brand, produce their own champagne 100% home-made and become growers producers - récoltants manipulants. In 2003, after his oenology studies, Guillaume takes over a part of the family estate, step by step. Starting with 75 ares, our vineyard riches almost 8 hectars today ; Guillaume used several abilities and his natural entrepreneurship to develop and make the estate blooming.
