Details of wine

The Poggio di Sotto estate was born in 1989 and enjoys a microclimate characterized by strong temperature variations even in summer. The whole territory follows the principles of organic cultivation certified by ICEA and is the home of the Sangiovese from which one of the most famous wines is obtained, namely Brunello.
The younger brother is this Rosso di Montalcino 2016 which, however, manages to enhance the qualities of Sangiovese in purity. A wine produced by hand picking that undergoes a strict selection. Fermentation occurs spontaneously in wooden barrels where it remains for 24 months and then passes for 6 months in the bottle. It does not undergo filtration.
Brick red color, very elegant with woody and black cherry notes, dry tannins and great freshness. aftertaste of dark chocolate and blackberries.
It goes well with grilled red loved ones, aged cheeses and with a mushroom or truffle risotto.

Poggio di Sotto was founded after years of research to find the best soil conditions in Montalcino, exposition on the South and micro-climate most suitable to reach an ideal and balanced maturation of the Sangiovese grape variety. The Brunello wine is actually a rare, precious and somehow difficult wine resulting from the perfect harmony among innumerable elements.
