description
Poggio di Sotto is located south-east of the Montalcino hill, an area in which some of the best Sangiovese productions are made, from which one of the most famous wines in the world such as Brunello comes to life.
All productions are performed with certified organic techniques and guaranteed by ICEA. The soils enjoy an enviable microclimate with even summer temperature ranges that enhance the qualities of this grape variety.
The Poggio di Sotto Rosso di Montalcino 2017 comes from a hand-made collection, spontaneous fermentation in wooden barrels and an aging in oak barrels for 24 months.
Defined by many as the younger brother of Brunello, it shows many qualities that make it a product absolutely to be appreciated. Full-bodied, intense and elegant red. Strong notes of black cherry, cedar wood and bitter cherry. <very fresh and with an aftertaste that reminds us of dark chocolate. Ideal to taste with grilled meat, roast, aged cheeses or a risotto with truffles.

Poggio di Sotto was founded after years of research to find the best soil conditions in Montalcino, exposition on the South and micro-climate most suitable to reach an ideal and balanced maturation of the Sangiovese grape variety. The Brunello wine is actually a rare, precious and somehow difficult wine resulting from the perfect harmony among innumerable elements.
