  6. Marquis D'Angerville Pommard 1er Cru Combe Dessus 2015
    Format 0,75 L Standard
    Vintage 2015
    Classification AOC Pommard
The Pommard 1er Cru Combes Dessus has a ripe blackberry, cola and spice-tinged bouquet that is actually quite Volnay in style thanks to its precocity. The palate is well balanced with succulent ripe tannin, plenty of black cherry and raspberry fruit, almost confit in style with fine balance towards the spicy finish that displays a touch of sinew. It should drink well over several years.

    Alcol 15.50%
Wine zones Syrah, Grenache, Mourvedre, Cinsault, Counoise
    Vintage 2012
    Classification AOC Châteauneuf du Pape
While I normally find the Les Hauts Lieux more compelling, in this vintage I prefer the Châteauneuf du Pape Les Trois Sources. Gorgeously perfumed and voluptuous, with fabulous blackberry, licorice, citron, salty minerality and hints of violet, this beauty flows onto the palate with full-bodied richness, building tannin and terrific length. The texture here is brilliant, and while it will benefit from 2-4 years in the cellar, this puppy is hard to resist now.

  10. Domaine Chevillon-Chezeaux Nuit St. Georges 1er Cru Les Bousselots 2015
    Format 0,75 L Standard
    Alcol 13.50%
    Wine zones 100% Pinot Nero
    Vintage 2015
    Classification AOC Nuits Saint Georges
"Les Bousselots" has a sustained colour. In its youth, it is fairly austere, but over time the aromas diversify, evolving towards fresh leather and animal notes with fine balsamic and liquorice scents. A deep red colour, full-bodied in the mouth with flavours of summer fruits such as black cherry. Can be kept for 5 to 10 years, 20 years for those who can wait.
