Roccapesta Reserve is the maturing of vintage Roccapesta. The same base is aged for a longer period. At bottling the Roccapesta, we choose the wine from the barrels most suited to lengthy ageing and we let it mature for a further 12 months in the cellar, resulting in a mature and balanced wine.

Il naso intreccia sensazioni di fiori maturi e gelatina di frutti rossi con erbe aromatiche, coltre di spezi dolci, toni di frutti selvatici e macchia mediterranea.
Al palato concentra struttura e tannicità. Ha grande rotondità in equilibrio con tannini delicati e freschezza adeguata. Lungo finale floreale.

The first Sangiovese and Ciliegiolo vineyards were planted in 1974. This is the Calestaia vineyard. Faith in the native vines is an inbred characteristic.
The estate changed ownership in 2003 and has invested everything in the production of quality red wines. Alberto and Leonardo Tanzini planted new vineyards (of which over 90% were Sangiovese, divided into 8 different clones, as well as Alicante and Pugnitello), the winery grew and its wines are sold in three different continents.
The team that, to this day, allows the estate to achieve some of the best results in the category was also formed in 2003. 2015 is the year of awards. All the major guides have awarded us maximum points. This is a great source of satisfaction ten years from the start of this challenging endeavour.
Nowadays, the Roccapesta Estate produces 100,000 bottles, the result of taking almost maniacal care of the vineyards and the patience to let nature age our wines for the right amount of time in the estates winery.
The history of Roccapesta is the story of an estate bound to its territory, on the borders of Tuscany, where nature retains a wild charm and opposites attract each other. The fire in Amiata brushes against the waves of the Mediterranean sea, rocks mix with clay, the efforts of our daily work alternate with carefree festive occasions. Lastly, above all, Roccapesta is the story of a relationship with the Sangiovese in Tuscan Maremma.
A relationship based on love, which is expressed in great vintages, in which the old vines produce unique wines. It is a relationship also founded on hard work and in difficult years this variety acts like a bored girlfriend who refuses to smile, try as you might.
