The history of the Fay family is particularly linked to Valgella, the sub-area of ??Valtellina that offers some of the most elegant Nebbiolo, or Chiavennasca as it is usually called here, of the entire denomination. The Fay farm in fact concentrates most of the vineyards in the municipality of Teglio, where the land is predominantly sandy with an 18% of silt but totally free of clay and limestone that would otherwise give grapes too concentrated, while the company philosophy wants to reward above all the finesse and the souplesse of a vine that here in Valtellina acquires a unique and inimitable personality elsewhere. However, the best example of Valtellina i Fay get it in another of the five sub-areas, Sassella, represented by Il Glicine, the flagship wine of the winery that has always been rewarded by this Guide with the highest recognition and that this year confirms itself as a product of extreme class, deserving to be kept in the cellar for a long time to observe its evolution over time. All the production is however synonymous of excellent quality and each label expresses a different interpretation of the territory and the vine, offering a reading of the Nebbiolo always original and pleasant.
