Cantina di Santadi was founded in 1960 by a group of grape growers, coordinated dall'ETFAS, namely the Institute for Land and Agrarian Transformation in Sardinia, with the intention of turning grapes into wine and sell the associated form achieved. The location is Santadi, south-west of Sardinia, in the heart of Sulcis.
Until the '80s, the activity is limited to the production and sale of bulk wine, with timid steps the sale of bottled wine, with poor results.
In the mid seventies, with the arrival of a new board, headed by current President Antonello Pilloni, the turning. The new management team is driven by enthusiasm and passion, and called, as a consultant, the internationally renowned oenologist Giacomo Tachis, who takes to heart the fate of the Cantina Santadi, becomes attached to the territory, and with his assistance, the wines of Cantina di Santadi make a quantum leap, so as to be readily accepted in the major markets, with awards of great quality and strong identity.
Since then it has been a continuous growth, the brand of wines Santadi is increasingly popular and appreciated around the world, whose success is undoubtedly due to the team, or the producers, directors, sales, employees and workers all, representing the area a heritage of great professionalism.
