Vintage 2015

Wine zones 30% Cabernet Franc, 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot

Alcol 13.50%

Format 0,75 L Standard

Ruby red bright color with slight reflections of pomegranate and it has an optimum texture.
In the mouth the perception is fresh and at the same time warm, comfortable and pleasant. The wine opens to its "young" but soft and harmoniously integrated tannins; the finish is long, fruity and spicy with a harmonic and persistent body.
The first impression in the nose is captivating and shows a complex fruitiness including a hint of dried red plums, sour cherries and candied citrus fruits. After that you can observe a hint of herbs of hay, aromatic herbs, myrtle berries and bay as well as impressions of flowers as for example bloomed violets and eucalyptus.
Serve with tasty meals like red meat, pheasant or mature mountain-cheese.

History and territory The “Montello and Colli Asolani” DOC area expands in the north west of the city of Treviso, in the first piedmont hilly zone. This area is represented by a very long zone at the foot of the hill and by a very long hilly zone facing east-west direction, joined by a plain area and by the Mercato Vecchio hills of Montebelluna and of Caerano San Marco. The hydrography is characterised in the north by the Piave river and in the southern part by the Canale del Bosco, which flows at the foot of Montello. The surface substratum of the lands located in the area of Montello mainly consists of ferritised clay of a dark reddish brown colour. The attention to wine quality problems keeps pace with the enhancement of the characteristics related to the old and tested wine traditions of the Montello area, which has always been dedicated to wine-growing, thanks to the special structure of the soil and to a lucky climatic exposure: two essential elements that created excellent hydrogeological conditions for growing great vineyards of Cabernet, Merlot and Prosecco, which form the slopes and plains of this area. There is a small wine farm here that has been considered the best interpreter of Cabernet in North East of Italy for over twenty years. The story of Serafini & Vidotto at Nervesa della Battaglia, in the heart of Gioiosa Marca Trevigiana, is a story of passion and respect. Passion for the land and for the wine made by two friends, skilful vine-dressers, experimenters, pioneers. Respect for the territory, for traditions and for limits that do not allow to obtain quantity in spite of quality, big numbers by sacrificing excellence. This is a story of a love that looks ahead, with a cellar in the forefront, currently an example of functional architecture in harmony with the landscape, the seasons and the fair work of man. It is not by accident that Serafini & Vidotto has produced Rosso dell’Abazia, a wine that marked the wine-making history of Italy.
