description
The first evidence of the Slavcek Winery dates back to 1769, the year in which it was founded taking its name from the birds that populated its territories or the nightingales (slavcek in Slovenian).
The company follows the dictates of organic agriculture, harvesting the grapes by hand and using sulfur and copper to a minimum. The vineyards extend over rocky and marble soils which give the wine its classic minerality.
The goal of this winery is to develop wines following ancient traditions, to tell all the characteristics of this territory rich in history and wine tradition.
We find this passion in all their labels, even in the so-called everyday wines like Crno 1L.

According to ancient documents, the Slav?ek farm was established back in 1769: still owned by the ancestors of the Vodopivec family, the farm is named Slav?ek - nightingale - a name given to the presence of a multitude of nightingales in the vicinity. Today it is father Franc, wife Alenka and two sons Andrej and Toma who run the farm. The land, mainly cultivated with wine, extends over 10-11 hectares and has vines: Ribolla gialla, Klarnica Malvasia, Pinot Grigio, Merlot, Barbera, Refosco, Cabarnè Sauvignon, Muscat giallo, Rizling Italico. The vineyards lie on the edge of the hills, on a steep slope, whose soils have rocky and marly components, which give the wine a characteristic mineral flavour. Manual harvesting and the use of sulphur and copper in minimum doses are the basis for organic farming. The heart of the company's philosophy lies in the optimal processing of the grapes, giving importance to the precision and wisdom typical of the ancestors, to achieve harmony and respect for the peculiarities of each wine. The most representative wines of the company are: Ribolla Gialla, Pinot Grigio, Klarnica, Barbera, Merlot and the classic method sparkling wine called Vitoria.
